Rivalry Week

The Battle of St. Mike's Playground, El Clasico & the Regular Season Championship are just some of the big rivalry games that will impact Seedings in Week 13. Rivalry Week is here. While every game is important and 'every point counts', some rivalries are bigger than others. The following is a ranking of this week's rivalry games based on a combination of Off Field Rivalry (OFR, how bad do they want to beat each other in everything that they do), Playoff Importance (PLI, how much impact does this game have for Playoff qualification and seeding), Competitiveness (COM, how competitive is the career H2H record of the rivals). All categories are rated from 1-10. In reverse order:

5. Andrew v. Billy OFR 8 + PLI 4 + COM 5 = 17 points (last year's total: 21; last year's rank: 3)

Battle of Brotherly Love. What could have been... This rivalry game will not be for the Family Division Championship, Billy has already locked that up. Instead, this match will only result in the possibility of Billy moving up from his current 6th seed position and Andrew will be jockeying for a better position in the Giorgio Cup. This rivalry game is always in the DelFL top 5, but it will have to wait another year to be back in the top 3.

4. Yanni v. Randy OFR 5 + PLI 6 + COM 6 = 17 points (last year's total: n/a; last year's rank: n/a)

Porno Heist Bowl. It is good to see the Randy-Yanni 'rivalry' game in the top 5 for once. This is not a match we see too often meaning something in week 13 with both of these Owners struggling mightily in past years. The struggles remain for Yanni but Randy has had a breakthrough in 2018. His solid year still could come without a BYE which Yanni will look to cement into reality during the final game of the regular season.

3. Kapo v. Squid OFR 2 + PLI 7 + COM 8 = 17 points (last year's total: n/a; last year's rank: n/a)

Regular Season Championship. There has been no rivalry game that has been as consistently important year after year as the Squid versus Dogs game. They may root for the other when not playing each other, but it still makes for a great game. This year’s game is not just for the Marianne Division Championship but the winner is also playing for the Regular Season Championship (and an automatic BYE). This game's importance should surprise no one as one of these two have won their division the last 4 years (Squid trying to make it 3 in a row).

2. Boner v. Jesse OFR 6 + PLI 4 + COM 9 = 19 points (last year's total: 24; last year's rank: 2)

Battle of St. Mike's Playground. Here is the spot where the comment is made about Jesse never being able to beat Boner in anything. It is a joke that is tough to remember meaning anything. In fact, as everyone knows, Jesse beats Boner all the time. In the DelFL he has beaten Boner in 5 of 11 matches. Jesse is out of the playoffs and can't knock Boner out either, but they will be playing for pride and positioning in their respective playoffs. 1. Bo v. Tony OFR 9 + PLI 5 + COM 7 = 21 points (last year's total: 18; last year's rank: 4)

El Clasico. The clock is still ticking and as long as that is true, this will remain one of the best rivalries in fantasy football. There even have been signs on WeChat that this could be one of the feistiest El Clasico's in some time (nice to see Fish arguing with someone that isn't X for a change). Bo has been poking the fish a little these past few weeks & he has an outside chance at a Playoff BYE. But, Tony would love instead to see the clock tick for another 365 days.
