Head Start
'You know what they say, the first win is the hardest one.'
Anyone who has watched the Seinfeld episode 'The Race' knows the importance of a head start. As Duncan Meyer will surely attest, starting with a lead is a major advantage to winning a race or fantasy football league. Mr. Bevilacqua has never been impressed with Billy's DelFL starts. For most of his career, Billy has basically said, "I choose not to win." But this year has been different, and like a backfire from a 1973 Chevy Impala, Billy has burst off to a great start to the 2016 season.
Billy has never started 2-0 before & he probably doesn't know how historically important it is. Jesse was 2-0 last year and went on to wear the Brown Jacket. In total, 7 of 10 Champions have started the year 2-0. A perfect record through two weeks obviously portends future success. However, starting the year 0-2 is a hole no one has been able to climb out of. Does that mean Warren, Randy, Giorgio, Parker & Stinky (all 0-2) should hoist their white flags? Of course not, the DelFL's motto is 'Every Point Counts', and also, Kapo started last year 0-2 and made the finals. So anything can happen.
But the odds are in Billy's favor (Boner, Sean, Birdman and Bo's as well). If Billy is to stay ahead of his Duncan Meyers then he will need to keep this good start going. With one of the toughest upcoming interdivisional schedules, that will be no easy task. Kind of like building the new addition of the Guggenheim, even if it didn't take that long.
