A Giant Nightmare... In the Playoffs

It's all about getting to the playoffs. Name: Del Brown 2015 Record: 7-6 Career Record: 71-65 Division Championships: 3 (2008, 20012 & 2014) Playoff Appearances: 3 (2008, 2012 & 2014) Playoff Wins: 5 Finals Appearances: 3 Brown Jackets: 2 Why the Giants? With only 3 playoff appearances in 10 years, the Commissioner cannot say that there is a lot of consistency. There have been some historically bad years (2009's 3-10 season averaging a record low 275ppg); there have been some average years (5 finishes at either 6-7 or 7-6) and then there is 2008, 2012 & 2014. In those 3 years the Commissioner came out of nowhere (always ranked very low in preseason Power Rankings) to win the Brown Family Division & came one Jeremy Hill run short of 3 Championships. The Commissioner remains the only Owner with 2 Championships and has a stellar 5-1 record in the playoffs (averaging 476ppg, 2nd only to Yanni). Fact is, when the Commissioner has his mojo going, it takes a lot to stop him. The New York Giants are similar in that way. The Tom Coughlin & Eli Manning teams of the 21st Century were all over the map. They had bad years and average years like the Commissioner, but when they put it together they are a tour de force. In 2007 & 2011 (mirroring the Commissioner's 4 year championship gap in 2008 & 2012) the Giants came out of nowhere to beat the dynastic New England Patriots twice. Similarly, the Commissioner defeated Boner (#1 team at the time) in 2008 & Bo (#1 in the Ultimate Rankings) in 2012. 2016 could be a down year for both teams, or they may scramble to mediocrity; but if they are to make the playoffs: both leagues knows they can win and can beat anyone. Next: Del
