Why the Saints?
Jesse had hit rock bottom. The greatest athlete from his graduating class had been reduced to a cellar dweller and fantasy football pushover. Everyone in his division, even Tony, circled Jesse's name on their calendar as a guaranteed win. Hope was lost. It got so bad that we were just satisfied if Jesse started a full roster before he went to play frisbee. Saints fans used to feel a similar sense of despair and pessimism that reached a nadir after Hurricane Katrina. Katrina's storm clouds seemed to have no silver lining, the team and its fans were just satisfied that they didn't move out of New Orleans. But it is always darkest before the dawn. Optimism resurfaced from the abyss and culminated into a Championship for both, redefining the legacy for both teams. Both won their Championships in dramatic fashion against heavily favored opponents. The Saints beat the Vikings in Overtime to win the NFC Championship and then beat Peyton Manning's Colts in the Super Bowl. Jesse beat Tits in OT on the final play of Monday Night Football to win his Brown Jacket.
