The People's Champ

Who don't you want to see wearing a Brown Jacket? As the 2015 contenders start becoming identifiable, many fantasy laggards are starting to ask themselves that question. Could they handle Jesse donning the Brown? How about Billy? Would you mind if Birdman had an additional star over the DelFL patch? Some scenarios are better than others and everyone has their own preferences.

For me, there is a clear priority list:

1) I don't want Tony to win. The Brown Jacket was conceived based on the very notion of a bunch of us Champions wearing our jackets around winless Tony. This dream was realized during the BBBPC this past summer where an enraged Tony was eventually kicked out of the party. All the time put into making those jackets was validated that evening.

2) I don't want anyone in my famly to win. This goes without saying. It only takes one round of golf wth the Brown family to understand the competitive nature in anything we do. Every stroke counts. Every point counts. These words would be emblazoned on our familial Coat of Arms.

3) I don't want any former Champions to win. Being the only DelFL Owner with two stars is gratifying. It makes my jacket superior to all others. I couldn't stomach the thought of Stinky's jacket having the same or more stars than mine.

So if the 1717ers are not going to add a 3rd star (and at 5-5 that seems a certainty), out of the putative contenders, Jesse and Squid are the most palatable. I think Squid's team has the best chance of winning, so upon my elimination, I am officially endorsing his campaign for the 2015 DeLFL Championship. I don't think I am the only one who would vote for him.
